HONOR YOURSELF WITH .........AFFIRMATION

Whatever you say to yourself today, let it be something GOOD. Tell yourself you look nice or smell good. Identify your good features and compliment yourself.

YOU MUST MAKE A HABIT OF BEGINNING EACH DAY BY TELLING YOURSELF NICE THINGS! When you stand in the mirror in the morning to wash your face and brush your teeth, look at yourself, really look into your eyes, and remind yourself of the good things, nice things you have done, remember all the victories you have had, and let what you say to yourself be something that makes YOU FEEL GOOD, remember a time when you experienced love or joy or pride about an accomplishment.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO FLOOD YOUR MIND WITH POSITIVE THOUGHTS ABOUT YOURSELF.

Among all the duties and responsibilities you must fulfill today, take a few moment to do something for yourself.
Hug yourself, spend a few moments listening to your thoughts, repeating self-affirming thoughts or words and weeding out the negative chatter that frequently races through the mind.
You are like a plant that needs watering to stay alive.
Thinking good thoughts about ourself, speaking pleasant words to and for yourself, are like watering a thirsty plant.  These are the steps you can take and must take as often as possible to affirm ourself.

Most of us spend the majority of our lives mentally repeating the criticisms and judgments we have heard about ourselves.  The subconscious mind is so powerful, it keeps track of every word we have ever heard.  People who have spoken to us in anger, in fear, or as a result of their own pain and ignorance leave lasting impressions on our subconscious minds.
These words become thoughts.  The thoughts become weeds that have a strangle-hold on our self-worth and self-esteem.

I grew up in a climate of angry words, criticism, and belittling.  I was continuously told I wasn't good enough, that I would not amount to much, that I would not pass school. I was told I was ugly, and useless.  These words entrenched themselves into my sub-conscious mind and I believed that I was stupid, useless, good for nothing and ugly and as a result these thoughts became my reality.

I have days when I don't always feel good about myself, but I make a conscious effort to remind myself of what I have achieved, and not just achievement but who I now am as a woman and the journey it has taken to reach where I am now.  I choose to celebrate my progress both physically, spiritually and emotionally.  It isn't easy when all you have heard are words that are negative and patronizing and it takes hard work to replace those words with good positive affirmations about yourself.

You are Divine, you are made in the image of God, and this can never be altered.

Words have the power to create.
Words are like energy pellets that shoot forth into the invisible realm of life.  Although we cannot see the words, they become the energy that fills a room, home, environment, and our minds.
These words stick to  the walls, the furniture, the curtains and our clothing, and these words in the environment seep into our being and become a part of who we are.
Since words ultimately guide our actions, it is important for us to speak words of truth, love and and every good thing we desire to experience into existence.

SELF-AFFIRMING WORDS AND ACTIONS ARE NECESSARY TO COUNTERACT THE UNPLEASANT THINGS WE HAVE HEARD ABOUT OURSELVES.

When I began working through the debris of negative words that had been spoken to me over the years, I was radical in my behavior.  I went out and bought big sheets of card board and wrote positive affirmations about myself on them and put them all over my bedroom wall, on my bathroom mirror, in my car, in the kitchen. On all the places I visited frequently in my home to continuously remind myself and begin to change how I saw and thought about myself.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT THE WAY YOU TREAT YOURSELF DETERMINES HOW OTHERS WILL TREAT YOU!!!!!

My affirmations were short and simple.

I am whole and complete.
I am divinely capable.
I am beautiful.
I am intelligent.
I am loved and I am a reflection of love.
I am joyful and happy.
I am content.
My affirmations were intended to counteract the negative words that had been spoken over me. They were very specific, and I had to take the time to sit down and write out all the negative feelings and beliefs I felt about myself and begin to change them with affirming words and thoughts.

The job of the subconscious mind it to take our words and thoughts and create them into reality.
How many of us have said to our children when they ask for something, " We can't afford it, we don't have any money"
Or we say to our partner " We never have any money, we are always struggling to pay the bills"

So when we affirm,  "we are always struggling to pay the bills" it doesn't matter how much money comes into the household, things will begin to break, the fridge needs replacing, the plumbing goes wrong, the kids school shoes break, you get robbed, your words are creating your reality of never having sufficient.

So it is important then, that our affirmations are positive.
" All our needs are met and we have sufficient"
" All our bills are paid and we are debt free"
Even if there is not sufficient, and you are in debt, your words will then begin to create for you opportunities to bring this into fruition and become your reality.
" I have the perfect job, with perfect pay in the perfect way"

I have experienced this first hand
Perhaps you are a person who is always late, and you mutter under your breath " I am always late"
change it to, " I am always on time"

Take some time out today and identify some of these negative words and thoughts that may be affecting your life and your family, and counteract them with positive affirmations.  And if you have to be radical as I needed to be, write them down.  Big and bold where you can see them, and speak them out frequently. Your words have the power to change your reality.
It doesn't matter what others may think, that perhaps you have lost the plot and gone baloney..
It is your life and OTHERS WILL TREAT YOU THE WAY YOU TREAT YOURSELF!!

Love Melanie xx

  2. Such true words Melanie, you have brightened my day! Just when I was questioning what I am doing, and why. I'm off to have a long hard think and tell myself some nice things rather than the negatives that have been going through my head! :)
